Owner operator box truck parked at the Atlantic Expedited yard

— For Owner Operators · Atlantic Expedited

Your truck. Our lanes.
A real partnership.

We don't put a single pay rate on this page — because we don't have one. Your settlement depends on your equipment, your experience, and the lanes you run. Tell us your situation and we'll talk real numbers, not banner promises. Twelve years of doing this right.

Consistent, dependable, efficient performance.

— What you get

A carrier that earns its keep.

The OO relationship is a partnership, not a transaction. Here's what that looks like at Atlantic.

Settlements built around your setup

Paid every Friday on a transparent itemized statement — your gross, your deductions (insurance, ELD, fuel advances if any), your net. No standard split, because there is no standard driver: we work out terms with you based on your equipment, experience, and route preferences.

In-house repair shop, priority access

Our own shop is steps away. Owner operators get priority scheduling and fair, transparent rates — usually well below what you’ll find on the road.

Fuel program with real savings

Fuel card access at most major chains, with negotiated discounts. Take advantage of our fleet purchasing power with significant per-gallon savings at nationwide fuel networks, featuring zero hidden transaction fees and seamless fuel advance tracking.

No forced dispatch

You see the load, you decide. We don’t cancel your route or push you onto something you didn’t agree to.

Dispatch you can actually reach

One number, real people. We know your truck, your route, and your name. No call-tree hell.

A team that's been here

Atlantic has been operating since 2012. The same family runs it today. We’re not a startup, and we’re not corporate.

— Getting started

From application
to your first load.

A clear, honest look at what happens between filling out the form and pulling your first dispatch.

  1. 01

    You apply

The application takes about 5–7 minutes. We need basics — your CDL, MVR consent, equipment details, and a way to reach you.

  2. 02

    We talk

A recruiter calls you within one business day. We answer your questions, you ask ours, and we walk through what working with Atlantic actually looks like.

  3. 03

    Onboarding & paperwork

DOT-required paperwork, drug test, orientation. We make this as quick as compliance allows — usually 2–3 days.

  4. Your first load

You see your first dispatch. Welcome to Atlantic.

— Requirements

What you'll need to qualify.

Federal regulations set most of these. The rest reflects what we've learned over twelve years about who succeeds at Atlantic.

What you need

  • Valid Class A CDL
  • Minimum 1-2 years OTR experience
  • Clean MVR — no DUIs in the last 5 years
  • Pass FMCSA pre-employment drug & alcohol clearinghouse check
  • DOT physical / medical certificate (current)
  • Truck that meets DOT and Atlantic equipment standards (2016 or newer, current DOT inspection)
  • Proof of insurance — Bobtail / Non-Trucking Liability and Physical Damage

— About pay

We don't put a number
on this page. Here's why.

Some carriers put their best-case weekly number on a billboard. We don’t. Because we don’t pay every owner operator the same — and you probably don’t want to be paid the same as the next guy either.

Pay at Atlantic is built around what you bring to the table. Your equipment. Your experience. Your safety record. The lanes you’re willing to run and the lanes you want to avoid. A driver with ten clean years and a 2022 Peterbilt running the I-75 corridor gets different terms than a sprinter operator just stepping up to dry van — and that’s how it should be.

We figure your number out with you, on the phone, before you commit to anything. Honest, specific, and based on your situation — not a banner.

— Common questions

What owner
operators ask us most.

If yours isn't here, just ask. Call 678-805-9060

We pay you weekly on Friday via direct deposit. Settlements are itemized — you see your gross, all deductions (insurance, ELD, fuel advances if any), and your net on every statement.

On the split itself: we don’t advertise a fixed percentage because we don’t pay everyone the same. A driver with ten years on dry van running our best lanes gets different terms than someone just stepping up to a new equipment type. We figure that out with you — not by handing you a template. If you want to compare numbers, call us and we’ll walk through exactly what your situation would look like.

No. You see what’s available and you decide. If you don’t want a load, you say so. We work with you on what fits your schedule and your truck.

We specialize in expedited freight across the Southeast and out to our regular lanes. Mostly dry van and box truck. We’ll walk you through specific lanes when we talk.

Rates are below market and itemized. You see the labor hours and parts costs before work starts. No surprise tickets, no upselling. We want your truck running, not parked.

From application to your first load is typically 5–10 business days, mostly limited by DOT-required paperwork (drug test, MVR, clearinghouse check). We don’t waste time once we have what we need.

Your truck needs to meet DOT and Atlantic equipment standards (2016 or newer, current DOT inspection). We don’t require you to buy a truck from us — though if you’re shopping, we’re happy to talk.

Bobtail / Non-Trucking Liability and Physical Damage coverage. We walk through the specifics — limits, providers, and what our contracts require — on the recruiter call.

Generally we look for at least 1-2 years of OTR experience. If you’re newly authorized but have been running as a company driver for a few years, talk to us — we’ll consider your full history.

We’re based in Georgia, in the greater Atlanta region. The shop is on-site. We have drivers who never come to the office, and we have drivers who come by every week. Both are normal.

Yes. Call (800) 705-2375 and we’ll connect you with someone on a similar truck or route. No pitch — just a driver-to-driver conversation.
